Great news! Thanks, Paul.
Hi Dan, thanks for this write-up. Does Silverlight 3.0 have access to cameras and microphones?
Hey Haken, what made you choose GoGrid over AWS?
I highly recommend combing through http://www.webhostingtalk.com/ forums to search for an appropriate host.

I just got this email from Amazon Associates: We regret to inform you that the Hawaii state legislature has passed an unconstitutional tax collection scheme that, unless vetoed soon by Governor Lingle, would leave Amazon.com little choice but to ...
I'm sorry to hear about your troubles with GoDaddy. I can recommend two hosts that I've tried and liked: http://www.jaguarpc.com/ http://www.servint.net/

Cloud-based Content Delivery (Amazon vs. Rackspace)

Amazon

Amazon's file storage service is called S3 (or Simple Storage Service). Files stored on S3 can be downloaded directly from S3 servers to your end user's browser. Amazon has a… Continue

Expression Web SuperPreview

Last summer, I made the switch to a MacBookPro as my main web development system. Since then I have been slack in testing my web designs with Internet Explorer. It's time now to start making sure my web designs are cross-platform compatible, not just Firefox-friendly.

I have VMWare Fusion installed on my Mac with Windows XP and Ubuntu. Running Fusion slows down my system (with 4 GB of SDRAM) so I use it sparingly. However, with Fusion I can t… Continue

Hbase and EC2 for Google-like Search

I have built a SaaS company based on PHP and MySQL running on cPanel accounts with each customer running their own separate MySQL database. At some point I would like to create various applications for searching of data across customers. That's not possible right now because each customer is using a separate database.

I just discovered… Continue

Adobe ConnectNow: Free Web Conferencing

Running a small web based software-as-a-service (SAAS) company, most of my customer contact is via the web (website forms and email). Only a select few of my customers actually have my telephone number. However, it's high time to add web conferencing and video as a means of improving… Continue

Amazon S3 takes down SmugMug

This morning, as I tried to view my photos on SmugMug, I was surprised to discover that their site is offline. Here is their blog post about it.

SmugMug's entire site is down due to Amazon's Simple Storage Service (S3) being offline due to elevated error rates.

Storage, bandwidth and computing power are sca… Continue

Oh, I see. So you're saying you "cockroached" the idea for your costume. The string that operated the wings was a precursor to your tech future. Glad I was of some help back then.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've never been to Yamagen but now I have to give it a try. I always enjoy trying new ramen shops. My favorite is Goma Tei but for the most authentic ramen I go to Ramen Nakamura.

Hi Truman, Dan Leuck tells me that you are a javascript guru. I'm working on a mobile app and am looking for a really talented javascript developer. Are you interested and available?

Thanks for the feedback Truman. I wish I had more time to evaluate more of the Javascript libraries that are out there. I found out about jQuery from Scott Gu's blog. He blogged on how jQuery will be integrated within future releases of VS. That kind of kicked off my interest in jQuery.

Sure - sounds good. Why don't we try somewhere new?

This place, that I've never been to, has a type of Korean black noodle that I've never tried: http://snurl.com/3og37

Within walking distance of Jupiter if you want to work there before lunch.

I'm open to other hole-in-the-wall suggestions, though.

Always a risk something may pop up at work, but I doubt it.
