I'd enjoy networking with some other Maui techies, but I live/work in Lahaina. I work full time as a software engineer for a California company so I'm tied up until evening on weekdays. Anyone interested in a weekend lunch?

- I've been programming since 1966, professionally since 1973. My longest jobs have been with Hewlett Packard (14 years), Network General (7 years) and now Venturi Wireless (8 years so far). For the past decade I have been doing Linux software on servers. I'm a co-author of Linux Appliance Design (No Starch Press, 1977) and one of the original developers of HP's Openview.

I think or so they still had everything on cards in PL1and was paying for processing time so I moved everything over to the PC's and to COBOL and processed all the data there then just uploaded it to the database on the Mainframe. I still remember my first Card program which was to make a frog jump in decreasing amounts until a certain distance then stop in Fortran, I still have those cards somewhere haha..
