Hi, I am interested in working on iPhone projects and am looking for other like-minded people. I am very familiar w/ the iPhone SDK and would not mind helping other people get started w/ it, as well. If there's anyone looking to work on iPhone apps for fun or profit, please get in touch.

Kelvin,

Just checking, has there been any progress in creating the iphone development group? I'm planning to release my app next week.

Also interested. Lifetime (30 years) of C, nearly no Obj-C.

Life circumstance (open heart surgery 30 days ago) leaves me with a ton of time on my hands.
Just can't seem to get started.

already own the Mac(s), iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch (2G), enrolled in the developer program, etc.

Actually, there's a Stanford iPhone course that's pretty good. The lectures are free on iTunes (from iStanford). However, I found it easier to just scan the .pdf files from the lectures to patch my holes in Objective-C:
http://www.stanford.edu/class/cs193p/cgi-bin/index.php

Also StackOverflow and the iPhoneDevSDK forum are good. Not to mention, the official iPhone dev forums for paying developers.

Yeah, I know about the Stanford course, too.

Was really looking more for a local face-to-face thing.

Thanks

I too am interested in talking to people who are working on iPhone application development. I am an experienced programmer but new to Objective-C and Macs I keep wishing I knew people I could talk to about problems I'm having.

If you are interested in talking to me about some Objective-C questions, I'd really appreciate it. I could send you the code in question. My e-mail address is sam@hcc.hawaii.edu.

So I've just finished a 2-day iPhone programming course in Portland (I fly back to HNL in about 7 hours) put on by Mobile Orchard's Dan Gringsby. I've learned a lot in 2 days, mostly about dealing with the workflow issues in Xcode (I'm an old emacs+Makefiles+'C' guy, IDEs are a foreign concept, or.. were.)

I have to say I know a lot more about view controllers and delegates now. :-)

Is there still interest in a meet-up in Honolulu?

Hi Jim. We have a monthly meeting for iPhone developers. The next one is December 2.

Jim,

I've been listening to Dan Grigsby's Mobile Orchard podcast (http://www.mobileorchard.com) for a while now. I'd be great to hear what you learned at the 2 day iPhone programming course. I'll be at the iphone meetup on December 2.

I would like to get to know a little something about the iPhoe SDK, but nothing really in depth at this time for I am in college. But yes, I want to learn some iPhoe SDK stuff. I will look for your reply some time in the future.

Thanks,

Joseph
