Event Description

We had a great meeting a couple days ago. I got to meet Sid, currently doing software development for a mainland company remotely while living here in town. It was also great to spend time with TechHui founders, Dan and Mika Leuck. Thanks so much for creating TechHui. It's been a wonderful resource.

Hope you can make the next Coworking group. I'm adding the name "Jelly" to the group. It seems that the term "coworking" can range from a situation as formal as dedicated office space where you can rent a desk to an informal gathering of independents to work together at a cafe. However, a Jelly seems definitely a more on the casual end of the spectrum. So I'll add the name "Jelly" to our group so people can understand at a glance that this is a group where you can drop in whenever you like and not have to pay for a desk.

If you can make it to our next meeting, please add a comment about what you'll be working on while at the Jelly.

Thanks again to Teddy Wells, owner of the Tropical Smoothie Cafe here in Honolulu, for hosting the group and providing free wifi internet access.

Please come. It's a great networking opportunity. You never know who you will meet. Already as a result of one of the meetings one person got a job offer!

Thanks to everyone who was able to attend today's Jelly.

Gabe Morris told me about two great website that allow you to post a design project and get lots of design submissions to choose from. Looks incredible. I might try it out:

Shawn Drost shared about his brand new startup that provides videos for real estate sales: http://newviewhawaii.com/ All the best to you, Shawn!

if i can escape the office, i'll probably just waste other people's time with some ridiculous ideas that i'll never implement

I'll be working on my ever-present and never-finished project: Ascribe. Currently I'm redeveloping the events module to display a monthly calendar dynamically drawn in HTML using Javascript to grab event data with AJAX and display event particulars in a tooltip.

I'd really like to go but I won't be getting into town until late evening on the 15th. I will absolutely commit to being at the next one!
